Joseph F Mambu MD CMD CHE –
The Founder and President of Family Medicine, Geriatrics & Wellness, Dr. Mambu graduated from Jefferson Medical College in 1973. Board Certified in Family Practice in 1976, he also became Board certified in Geriatric Medicine in 1990. He received a certificate in Business Administration in 2001 from the University of PA and recently graduated (2010) from the University of Arizona School of Medicine in Integrated Medicine. He is pioneer in Healthcare Reform and Improving Quality Measures in patient care. He opened a new practice, Wellness & Successful Aging (www.wasamed.com) this year. He splits his time up between the two practices.
Hillary Marcus MD –
Dr. Marcus graduated from Temple University with her medical degree in 2003. She did her residency in Internal Medicine at Drexel College of Medicine at the top of her class. She was the Head of the Residency Program at Abington Hospital and started practicing at Family Medicine, Wellness and Geriatrics in 2006.
Debra Geiger D.O.-
Dr. Geiger graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1980 from Temple University. She then went to The University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Illinois. She received her Board Certification in 1986 in Osteopathic Medicine and in 1989 became Board Certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Geiger has a broad range of clinical experience in a variety of out patient clinics and hospital settings including the inner-city, military, suburban and rural clinics. As a Family physician, Dr. Geiger’s practice scope includes small children through Geriatrics. She joined Family Medicine, Geriatrics and Wellness in 2013.
James Barnes M.D.-
Dr. Barnes graduated from MCP Hahnehemann College of Medicine in 2000. Previous to medical school, Dr. Barnes received his Masters in Occupational Health from Temple University in 1985 and his Bachelor’s degree from Trenton State College in Engineering in 1984. He did his post-graduate work at Abington Hospital where he met Dr. Mambu. He became Internal Medicine Board Certified in 2003. His scope of practice is patients 18 and older. Besides joining FMGW in 2013, He is employed in the Intensive Care Unit at Abington Hospital.
Jennifer Hanson, D.O. –
Dr. Hanson is a current medical resident at Abington Hospital where she met Dr. Mambu. She is currently helping out FMGW on Wednesday evenings. Her Education is from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and holds a bachelor degree from Saint Joseph’s University in biology. She minored in Interdisciplinary Health Care Ethics. In 2012, she received from Abington Hospital the distinguished honor of the Lana K. Lehman Ambulatory Medicine Award in recognition of exceptional commitment and talent in an outpatient setting.
Lisa Albert MSN CRNP –
Lisa is the office Nurse Practitioner who also visits community and home based patients. Lisa graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelors degree in Nursing. She received her Masters degree in Nursing at Gwynedd Mercy and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in Adult Health. She has worked with Dr. Mambu since 2003.
Amy Lorenzo MSN CRNP-
Amy has practiced with Dr. Mambu for over 10 years and visits patient’s in the community and that are homebound. Amy graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelors degree in Nursing. She received her Masters degree in Nursing at Gwynedd Mercy and is certified by the American Nurse’s Credentialing Center.
Deborah Schettinger RN, BSN, CCM-
Deb has over 25 years experience in the Nursing field. She graduated Cum Laude with her Bachelors of Nursing in 1985 from Holy Family University. She is certified in Case Management with over 10 year’s experience. She plays a vital role in our South Eastern Chronic Care Initiative Program.

Lauren Schmock RN BSN–
Lauren received her Bachelor’s of Nursing Degree from Jefferson University in 2011. She joined the FMGW team as the Clinical Nurse Manager January 2013. She worked in a pediatric office setting before joining FMGW. She is married with one daughter and is expecting her second child this year.
Tara Bracht, Clinical Coordinator-
Tara has been with FMGW for several years and will help to coordinate your care in the office and the community. She is a Certified Medical Assistant and is currently in school for her Nursing degree. Together she works with Dr. Mambu, the President of FMGW, Deb, our Case Manager, Lauren, our Clinical Manager and Lily, our Practice Administrator to coordinate patient care between the clinical staff and the office staff to give you the best patient centered medical available.
